Notes (Newly Admitted Students Health Checkup)

1. Checks done during the Newly Admitted Students Health Checkup:

①urine tests (occult blood, urinary sugar, protein), ②electrocardiography, ③physical measurement:height and body weight measurement, abdominal circumference, ④medical questionnaires, ⑤blood pressure, ⑥audiometry, ⑦blood tests, ⑧physical examination, ⑨chest x-ray examination

2. Items Necessary to Be Brought to the Health Check-up:

・Student ID Card or Official Notice of Your Student ID Number (if you do not have a Student ID Card yet, please bring your Official Notice of Your Student ID Number.).
・Urine sample
  *Please collect urine at home on the day of the health check-up in the container sent to you in advance.
・Plastic bag (please bring a bag that you can put your shoes in and carry around.)

3. Please note the following points regarding the health check-up:

・Please cooperate in wearing a mask, preferably made of non-woven fabric, when coming to the health check-up venue.
・If you have respiratory symptoms such as cough or phlegm, or unusual physical symptoms such as fever or fatigue, you will not be admitted to the health check-up site. If you are unable to take the health check-up due to illness during the new student health check-up period, please contact the Hongo Health Service Center.

    *Weekdays only 9:00am-4:30pm. However, on April 2 calls can be made until 11:45 only.
・Please wear clothing that is easy to put on and take off for ease at the examination.
・Stockings should not be worn to the examination.
The day before the examination, please abstain from alcohol, and those who have their check-up in the morning should  finish eating by 9:00 p.m. and come without having breakfast as well as refraining from having drinks that contain calories. Those with check-ups in the afternoon should finish a light breakfast by 7:00am. Alcohol and eating can affect the blood test results. Drinking water, tea, or other non-caloric beverages is not a problem, so make sure to drink water regularly to prevent dehydration. Please check with your doctor about fasting for blood tests if you are taking medication daily.
・Those who need special assistance should contact us by 16:00 on March 22, as we expect the period to be very crowded.
・If you would like to substitute the results of a health check-up taken at a clinic or hospital (test results received outside of the health center), please read the notes carefully and if necessary, contact to the Hongo Health Service Center before submitting the documents. If you are wearing an insulin pump or blood glucose sensor which cannot be remove at the health check-up venue, please consult with the Health Service Center in advance.

4. Counseling regarding health and physical condition after enrollment

If you have any questions about your health or physical condition after enrollment, you can consult at the health center on any campus.
Please visit the Health Service Center directly during office hours (9:00-16:00) or call the following number for more information.

 ・Those who would like a referral to a health care provider.
 ・Those who have been having trouble sleeping at night because of the change in environment.
