Vaccination Clinic

■Overview

  • The Vaccination Clinic offers medical consultation on vaccination.
    (Some vaccines can be received through the Department of Internal Medicine.)
  • Please refer to "Types of Vaccinations" for vaccines available at the Health Service Center.

■Eligibility

Students or staff who belong to the University of Tokyo and are permitted to use the health service center. 
※We do not offer our service for overseas travel for personal or leisure purposes.

■Types of Vaccination / What you can consult

Vaccines that are available at the Health Service Center

Hepatitis A, Inactivated Polio vaccine, Japanese encephalitis, Absorbed Diphtheria-purified Pertussis-tetanus-inactivated polio Combined Vaccine (DTaP-IPV), Diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis combined vaccine (DPT), Diphtheria-tetanus combined vaccine, Rabies (before exposure), Meningococcal vaccine,

All vaccines that are available at the health service center, including the above.

*Influenza vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine are only provided as a group vaccination. There will be a separate notice when they are available.

What you can consult about

I would like to know about recommended vaccinations as part of health management
I want to take the Meningococcal vaccine because I am moving into a university dormitory.
I would like to know about the vaccines that I should take after arriving in Japan.

General consultation about vaccination is possible.
After consulting with the doctor, vaccination can be provided if necessary.

■Consultation flow

  • 1. Attach the following documents with a password to your e-mail and send it to the health service center you wish to visit.
  •  The title of the e-mail should be "Application for vaccination clinic".
  •   ・Completed "Vaccination Clinic Application Form"sample
  •   ・Mother and Child Handbook” and/or official documents to prove vaccination (with doctors’ signatures)
  •    Document indicating which vaccine is required
  •   ・Guidelines and/or format for the medical certificate

  • 2. The person in charge will reply to your e-mail after checking the submitted documents. The replying e-mail will only be sent on business days of the internal medicine department. Appointments are to be made by emails.

  • 3. Consultation with the doctor on the day and time of your appointment.
  •  Please let us know if you need to cancel your appointment.

■Attention

  • ・Some vaccinations require multiple shots spread over a certain period of interval, and a lot of them take time to be fully effective. Please give yourself plenty of time to apply for it.
  • Please note that due to the reservation system, there may be cases where your preferred dates will not be available due to prior bookings.
  • ・The clinic only uses medicines which are approved in Japan. We may recommend that you consult other medical institutions when you need vaccinations that we do not handle.
  • The doctor will judge if you need a vaccination depending on your health condition and other factors. Please note that we may not be able to meet your request.
  • Vaccines that are in stock can be given on your first visit, while those that are not in stock will be ordered after payment, and you will be vaccinated at a later follow-up visit.
  • Blood tests may be performed if necessary, but it will take about one week to get the results. (It may take longer depending on the items.)

  • Please pay at the cashier of the health service center after the consultation when getting a vaccination or prescribed medicines. Vaccine reservations must be paid for in advance
