HPV Catch-up Vaccination Program Ending Soon

2026-02-09 update

  • Hongo hc
  • Komaba hc

Those who have begun HPV vaccination under public funding by the end of March 2025 will be able to complete all three doses under public funding by the end of March 2026.
(Those who have not yet received their first dose are not eligible.)

To allow for possible rescheduling due to illness or incomplete documentation, we recommend making your appointment and receiving the vaccination as early as possible.
In principle, HPV vaccination is available only through the municipality where your resident registration is recorded. If you have moved, please check with your current municipality, as it is possible to obtain vaccination vouchers for the remaining doses after completing the necessary procedures.

For those whose resident registration is within Tokyo’s 23 wards, vaccination is also available at the Hongo and Komaba Health Service Centers.
Appointments are currently available through the end of March, so please make your reservation as early as possible. For details, please click here.
Please note that appointments will close approximately two weeks in advance due to vaccine preparation requirements.

Vaccination schedule (For ages 15 and older): Three shots are recommended.

  • Second dose: at least 1 month after the first dose (standard interval: 2 months)
  • Third dose: at least 3 months after the second dose (standard interval: 4 months)

Individuals who are not eligible for the catch-up vaccination program, including males who wish to be vaccinated, may receive the vaccine at their own expense at the Health Service Center.
For details, please consult the Women’s Health Clinic or the vaccination outpatient services (by appointment) at internal medicine clinics in each district.
